Master Lee, 8th Dan, is the Founder of the Sang Moo TGMS and London Institute of Martial Arts, Also the UK Commissioner of International Teuk Gong Moo Sool Federation.
An instructor at the prestigious Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance and graduate MA in Advanced Dance Performance with specialization in Ritual.
Master Tae Yong Lee’s passion for martial arts began at the age of eight in Korea.
In 1990, he held the title ‘Champion of Korea’ and was National Representative in Kung-Fu,
ranking second in the World Kung-Fu Championships. Afterwards, he continued his study and practice in other martial arts disciplines including Hapki Do, Kick Boxing, Gum Do and Tae Kwon do.
He was drill master of the South Korean Special Forces and has provided advanced training to the security detail of various heads of state.
He then studied acupuncture and oriental philosophy under monk ‘Mook-Jeong’ and is a recognized acupuncturist and practitioner of Ki based therapy.
After this he travelled to the UK to open Sungji Action School in Isleworth and Kingston, London and was appointed UK Commissioner for the International TGMS Federation.
In 2012, he became the Director of LIMA (London Institute of Martial Arts).

History of Sang Moo TGMS Martial Arts Academy
We established in Seoul in 1999, the Sang Moo Academy began operating in the UK in 2005. The Academy operated for 8 years in a facility on London Road, Isleworth but has since far outgrown its former premises and is now hosted at the 8,000 sq. ft. facility of the London Institute of Martial Arts in Isleworth Middlesex.
The Academy has a second branch in New Malden, Surrey which has been operating since 2007.
Established by Grand Master Tae Yong Lee 8th Dan,
the Academy has provided instruction to military forces, royal body guards, body guards and specialist security personnel, Sheriff personnel in Washington State and California, and has been working with members of the public interested in learning advanced self-defence skills.
In addition, the academy has been involved in the creation and direction of theatrical productions presented in the UK, US and Korea. Most notable has been the Academy’s participation in ‘Show Tae Kwon’ presented in the opening ceremony of the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
Most recently, the Academy has been supporting young children
in developing discipline, confidence, self-regulation, respect and honesty, teamwork and camaraderie,
through hosting classes for children as young as 4 years old, and through supporting local schools
with Martial Arts instruction and Gymnastics / Physical Education classes.
